South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP) Course

This South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP) class is a comprehensive training course designed to educate individuals on the laws and regulations surrounding the carrying of concealed firearms.

FEES

• Application fee of $50

Additional fees for fingerprinting and class instruction may apply

RANGE REQUIREMENTS

Students must bring the following items to complete the live-fire portion of the course:

• A fully functioning semiautomatic pistol or revolver (no antiques)
• Ammunition (quantity determined by instructor/course requirements)
• Eye and ear protection

Firearms must be unloaded and cased when not on the range.

Students must demonstrate the ability to safely load and unload their firearm as part of the qualification.

STATE REQUIREMENTS TO OBTAIN A PERMIT

South Carolina concealed weapons permits are issued by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED).

Students must complete:

• An approved training course
• A live-fire qualification
• Application through the state
