Multi-Day 2-Day Delaware Multi-State Concealed Carry | Delaware Permit to Purchase

This concealed carry course addresses all State of Delaware required topics to complete your application for a Concealed Deadly Weapon Permit. This class will teach the proper mindset and understanding of necessary tactics to use firearms to defend your home, family, and freedom.

The objective of this comprehensive course is to provide you with the knowledge required to safely own, carry, and shoot a firearm. The education you will receive in this class will meet and exceed Delaware’s training requirements for those seeking to apply for their permit to properly wear and carry a handgun.

In our time together, we will cover:

• Developing a Personal and Home Protection Plan
• Self-Defense Firearms Basics
• Shooting Fundamentals
• Gear and Gadgets
• The Legal Use of Force
• Violent Encounters and the Aftermath
• Basic and Advanced Skills

In addition to state requirements, we will discuss firearm basics and safety, safe shooting fundamentals, conflict resolution, situational awareness, safe storage of ammunition, firearms in your home, and Delaware Law. Students will also receive the completed Delaware State Police Form, "Firearms Training Course Certification," for submission with the Delaware Handgun Qualified Purchaser Permit Application.

The state of Delaware requires students to complete a live fire exercise on a range to obtain your permit. Your instructor will provide detailed information about the live fire portion of this course upon registration.

Be sure to bring any snacks or drinks for the class as well as a pen and paper to take notes.

STATE REQUIREMENTS TO OBTAIN PERMIT

EDUCATION

• Delaware requires a minimum 8 hour instruction block including classroom and live fire from an approved Delaware Instructor (USCCA-Certified Instructors and courses fulfill this requirement.)

LIVE FIRE

• Live-fire shooting exercises conducted on a range, including the expenditure of a minimum of 100 rounds of ammunition.
• Identification of ways to develop and maintain firearms shooting skills.

FEES

• Application | $65.00 made payable to “PROTHONOTARY”. License issued from initial application is valid for 3 years.
• Renewal | $65.00 made payable to “PROTHONOTARY”. May be filed as early as January 2nd of the renewal year.

DOCUMENTATION

PUBLICATION OF APPLICATION

• Arrange with a newspaper of general circulation (at least 35% of the population of the zip code) in your county.
• Have your application published once, at least ten business days before filing your application.
• Obtain an affidavit from the newspaper company stating that this requirement has been met.
• Attach the newspaper’s affidavit to your application
• Be sure to use your whole name (no initials), and your address.

ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTATION NEEDED

• Fingerprints must be taken by the State Bureau of Identification within 45 days prior to filing the application.
• Two 1.5" x 1.5" passport-style photographs taken within the six-month period immediately preceding the filing of the application.
• Have the reference questionnaire completed by five citizens from the county in which you reside. They must not be related to you or live at the same address, and must have known you for no less than one year.
• Have the completed application notarized.
• First-time applicants must provide a duplicate copy of the new application, including all attachments.
• Renewal applications must include two color passport-style photographs of the applicant, as well as a duplicate copy of the application.
